Work Trip - March, 2010
(St. Luke's UMC, Highlands Ranch, CO)

The group size for this trip will be a maximum of 25 people. We will be working with local people in a construction project, and will also be spending time each day with children in a Bible school program. Prior construction experience is not essential.

We will primarily be building adobe homes for widows. We may also do some work at the orphanage across the street. We will also spend time at the John Wesley School in nearby Santa Cruz.


Schedule (March 19 - 28, 2010)

Friday March 19 - Fly from Denver to Guatemala City
- Check into lodging in Guatemala City
Saturday March 20

- Drive to Chichicastenango (~5 hours)
- Check into hotel
- Inspect work site
- Visit Maryknoll Sisters
- Visit Orphanage

Sunday March 21 - Free time at the market in Chichicastenango
- Attend evening church services
Monday March 22 - Work day; activities with children
Tuesday March 23

- Work day

Wednesday March 24 - Work day
Thursday March 25 - Work day
Friday March 26 - Work day; activities with children
Saturday March 27 - Drive to Antigua (~4 hours)
- Check into hotel
- Free time in Antigua
Sunday March 28 - Drive to airport (~1 hour)
- Fly home

Cost

The total cost for this trip is estimated at $1,650 per person. The final cost is dependent on the airfare locked in. Here is a breakdown of what is covered:
