Guatemala Medical Mission - May 2007

There is a clear need for medical services in the rural communities where past construction/VBS teams have worked. We will be providing general healthcare in the Quiche department in the western highlands of Guatemala. We will be working with the Guatemalan Methodist Church and a local missionary organization, Salud y Paz. We may either be base the clinic in Camanchaj, or travel to provide coverage for surrounding areas.

More information will be forthcoming, but here is what we know right now:
  • We will need doctors, nurses, and non-medical personnel
  • We will be providing both general practioner and dental support
  • The clinic in Camanchaj is fully equipped to provide both general medicine services and full dental services. Each clinic has up to 3 medical exam rooms and two full dental operatories including central vacuum, air driven dental units, chairs and lights.
  • Diseases and conditions we may be treating
  • Additional medical supplies will be needed.
