There
is a clear need for medical services in the rural
communities where past construction/VBS teams have
worked. We will be providing general healthcare
in the Quiche department in the western highlands
of Guatemala. We will be working with the Guatemalan
Methodist Church and a local missionary organization,
Salud
y Paz. We may either be base the clinic in Camanchaj,
or travel to provide coverage for surrounding areas.
More information will be forthcoming, but here is
what we know right now:
We
will need doctors, nurses, and non-medical personnel
We
will be providing both general practioner and
dental support
The
clinic in Camanchaj is fully equipped to provide
both general medicine services and full dental
services. Each clinic has up to 3 medical exam
rooms and two full dental operatories including
central vacuum, air driven dental units, chairs
and lights.
