Guatemala Work Trip - August, 2005

The group size for this trip will be 12 to 20 people. We will be working in the village of Lemoa on a construction project, and may also be spending time each day with children in a Bible school program. The emphasis is on developing relationships with the local community and sharing our time and resources with those who have need. There will be plenty to do for people of all skill levels and areas of expertise. Prior construction experience is not essential.

Our main construction task involves working on a new kitchen and dining room facility for the nearby Methodist Retreat and Pastoral Training Center (see project details). We may also do some work at the Methodist orphanage across the street. There is also the option of organizing a Bible school for the local children -- children from the surrounding areas will attend every afternoon after school. Anywhere from 200 - 500 children can be expected. Advance planning and preparation is recommended for those teams wanting to provide a Bible School.

For an idea of what we do on these trips, please see photos from recent trips.
