Current Board Members

Les Bonde, the construction specialist for Pura Vida, is an engineer and former Science Support Director for Raytheon Polar Services,as well as a former VP of Engineering Services at EG&G.  


Gene Branch, an engineer turned patent attorney, is a frequent attendee on Pura Vida-sponsored work trips to Lemoa, Guatemala. He and his wife Dawn and are avid fundraisers for the John Wesley School in Santa Cruz del Quiché.  

Executive Director
Mark Ely, the founder of Pura Vida Ministries, travels to Guatemala throughout the year to administer programs and lead work trips. He also provides occasional IT consulting to Compassion International. [ read profile ]  

Richard N. Ely brings extensive nonprofit experience to Pura Vida as a former executive director of Ruritan National, a national civic organization based in Dublin, Virginia. He serves on the Community Relationships Committee of the Boy Scouts of America and is a partner of the Freedoms Foundation.  

David Money is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel for First Data Corporation. Member, Planning & Facilities Committee of The Children’s Hospital board of directors. Former Associate Pastor, St. Luke’s UMC, Highlands Ranch, CO. David is a long time Pura Vida student sponsor and trip attendee.  

Treasurer

Nicolette Rounds, CPA, is the principal of the rounds company. Her hands-on involvement with Pura Vida began when she traveled to Guatemala with her daughter’s youth group, and was deeply touched by the exceptional work done by Pura Vida and the people of Guatemala. She continues her involvement as a work trip participant and lends a hand to the organization with tax compliance services. Additionally, she is a long-standing active member in the American Society of Women Accountants where she serves as Chapter President and Scholarship Trustee.  

Secretary

Lyle SmithGraybeal is the Projects Director for Renovaré, a parachurch organization dedicated to renewing the Church.  


Jennifer Watson is vice president of MGA Communications, Inc., a public relations, marketing and research firmed based in Denver, Colorado. Jennifer works with a variety of Colorado nonprofit organizations and traveled to Guatemala on her first Pura Vida trip in 2010.  

Board Members Emeritus

Rev. Linda Marshall is minister of Congregational Care at Trinity United Methodist Church in Denver, Colorado.
